Communications & Events Specialist

Snowbright Studio is seeking a Communications & Events Specialist to expand our online and in-person presence. This is a full-time, salaried remote position that reports to Snowbright’s Communications Manager.

Founded in 2019, Snowbright is known for creating uniquely memorable, high quality playful experiences and games along with an impact-driven mission to make the world a better place. Our company’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Venture Beat, and the Associated Press. Our studio’s games have won and been nominated for multiple awards, including Teatime Adventures (2022 Origins Finalist for Best RPG), ink (2023 Tabletop Awards Finalist for RPG of the Year), and Cozy Companion (2024 Origins Award Winner for Best Writing). Our game studio (2023 Tabletop Awards Finalist for Studio of the Year) and leadership team (2023 Games for Change Vanguard Award Winner) have been recognized for their work as well. As we head into our sixth year, Snowbright is as committed as ever to pushing the boundaries of gaming as we create worlds where all can feel seen and welcome.

Scope of Role
This is a full-time, salaried role that impacts most of Snowbright’s product lines. This is NOT a social media manager role, please read the qualifications and responsibilities of the position below.

Essential Qualifications

  • High attention to detail

  • Prior experience as a copy editor

  • Prior experience exhibiting at conventions

  • A passion for Snowbright’s catalog of games and tabletop RPGs in general

  • Ability to travel to conventions (including Gen Con, Origins, PAX East, PAX West, and PAX Unplugged)

  • Kindness, empathy, and a desire to make the world a better place through play and games

  • A desire to collaborate with a primarily LGBTQ+, disability-friendly, and neurodiverse team

  • United States citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with social media ad platforms

  • Prior experience working in Squarespace

  • Residence in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, or Washington

  • Willingness to hear extensive details about your coworkers’ pets

Responsibilities
This unique role stretches across Snowbright product lines in a variety of ways. During any given week, you may find yourself tackling some of the following tasks:

  • Copyediting an upcoming issue of Cozy Companion and running accessibility checks after you’re done with your edits

  • Updating the Snowbright website to announce a new product becoming available

  • Coordinating travel plans for an upcoming convention

  • Checking the weekly performance on a new set of ads

  • Preparing a weekly report based off of our sales and shipping software’s data

Compensation & Benefits

  • The anticipated salary band for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 USD annually
